This position will enable an applicant to give back to the community. Position work days are Monday through Friday. Must be a LVN licensed to practice in the State of Texas, possess a valid Driver’s License and be able to wear a N95 mask in order to perform job duties.

Brief Description

The purpose of this position is to provide screening, counseling, intake and support services for clients. This is accomplished in a clinic or outreach setting by screening for services, taking medical histories and related information, assessing needs, providing education services, administering medications or immunizations, drawing labs, investigating information, and maintaining records.. Other duties include participating in health or medical information educational fairs and clinics, participating on committees, preparing for clinics, and referring patients to ancillary providers. This position will enable an applicant to give back to the community. Position work days are Monday through Friday.

Formal Education

Work requires knowledge of a specific vocational, administrative, or technical nature that may be obtained with a two year associate’s degree, diploma or equivalent from a college, technical, business, vocational, or correspondence school. Appropriate certification may be awarded upon satisfactory completion of advanced study or training.

Over one year up to and including two years

Supervision

Work requires the occasional direction of helpers, assistants, seasonal employees, interns, volunteers or temporary employees.

Reading

Intermediate – Ability to read papers, periodicals, journals, manuals, dictionaries, thesauruses, and encyclopedias. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in high school up to college. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.

Math

Intermediate – Ability to deal with system of real numbers; practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios/proportions and measurement. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in high school up to college. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.

Writing

Intermediate – Ability to write reports, prepare business letters, expositions, and summaries with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar, using all parts of speech. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in high school up to college. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.

Certification & Other Requirements

Licensed Vocational Nurse, CPR Certificate, First Aid. Must meet immunizations requirements after employment begins. Must have the ability to wear and use the N95 respirator to perform essential functions of the Licensed Vocational Nurse position.
