Brief Description

The purpose of this position is to assist the Health Department in achieving and retaining accreditation from the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB). Accreditation will be based on a set of quality and performance standards geared to drive performance above the minimum standard. This includes researching and documenting how services and programs align with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Essential Public Health Services. Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Health, duties will include coordinating activities, data collection and analysis, training, assessments, and quality improvement projects. Additional duties include working with internal and external partners to complete and disseminate various public health assessments, as well as assist in activities listed in the Community Health Improvement Plan and the Strategic Plan for the organization.

In collaboration with the Assistant Director and key staff, completes the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) Readiness Checklist, implements and oversees the self-assessment process, assists in prioritizing the results, and identifies areas for quality improvement. Works with internal quality improvement team to implement and assess projects.

Develops and maintains a database of documents that demonstrate conformity to accreditation standards and measures. Works with internal and external partners to collect applicable documents.

Formal Education

Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. Knowledge is normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
